NY Fed survey on consumer expectations: 1Y inflation exp. down slightly to 3.2% from 3.3%

  • 1 year inflation expectations falling to 3.2% from 3.3%
  • 3-year inflation expectations remains unchanged at 2.8%
  • 5-year inflation expectations rises to 3.0% from 2.8%

in other details:

  • home prices rise remained unchanged at 3.3%
  • Expected year ahead stock price rise odds highest since May 2021
  • Perceptions of current financial situation improved in May.
  • Expectations rose that unemployment will be higher in a year.
  • Perceptions of credit access unchanged in May
