Onana’s Saves Shine in Manchester United Draw
A soccer player in a bright green goalkeeper uniform is celebrating on the field, with a crowd in the background, having just made it into the Standout XI of the Premier League.

After an exciting round of Premier League action, we’ve analyzed this week’s top performers. Here’s how the top performers shapes up:

⚽ Goalkeeper: Andre Onana (Manchester United)

Onana produced a fantastic double save, easily outshining David Raya’s Champions League performance. Under pressure at Manchester United, Onana kept his side in a game they arguably should have won. A top-tier display from the keeper.

Defenders

Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool):
Alexander-Arnold was exceptional against a lively Bournemouth side. He held his own defensively while still causing havoc going forward, even earning himself a superb assist. Bournemouth needed multiple players to contain him.

Ezri Konsa (Aston Villa):
Konsa showcased his versatility once again, shifting positions as the game progressed. His consistent form has made him one of England’s top defenders. He also provided a crucial goal for Villa in their match.

Gabriel (Arsenal):
Gabriel continues to be a dominant presence in set-pieces. Opponents are finding it increasingly difficult to mark him, even when double-teamed. Defensively, he was strong throughout the game, even though Arsenal couldn’t see out the victory.

Riccardo Calafiori (Arsenal):
Despite a rough start, Calafiori grew into the game, scoring a stunning goal. His tactical awareness and defensive work, particularly when his team went down to ten men, were pivotal.

Midfield

Sam Morsy (Ipswich):
After some criticism in recent weeks, Morsy raised his game this time around. He was more active across the pitch, especially in his defensive duties, making a significant impact for Ipswich.

Tyler Dibling (Southampton):
At just 18, Dibling’s performance was a standout. Comfortable in multiple midfield roles, he exudes confidence. He capped off his display with his first goal, and it’s clear his future is bright.

James Maddison (Tottenham):
Maddison stepped up this week, putting in the performance Tottenham fans have been waiting for. Even after Brentford’s early goal, Maddison took control of the game, creating several chances and showcasing his ability to influence big moments.

Forwards

Luis Diaz (Liverpool):
Diaz was the standout player against Bournemouth. His two goals, alongside his all-around play, showed he’s more than capable of becoming Liverpool’s main man if Salah departs. A brilliant display of energy and skill.

Nicolas Jackson (Chelsea):
Jackson had an impressive outing, scoring two goals and providing an assist before being substituted after 60 minutes. His sharpness in front of goal could make him Chelsea’s go-to striker if he keeps this up.

Iliman Ndiaye (Everton):
Despite Everton’s struggles, Ndiaye continues to shine. His hard work off the ball and his creativity have added much-needed quality to Everton’s attack. Keeping him fit will be crucial for their survival hopes.

🎯 Manager of the Week: Mikel Arteta (Arsenal)

Arteta may feel disappointed with the result, but tactically, he got things right. His side kept Erling Haaland relatively quiet, and even after going behind, Arsenal responded well to lead 2-1. Up until stoppage time, his game management looked perfect.
