The General Overseer and Senior Prophet of the Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin, has once again issued a threat of legal action against the well-known social critic, Vincent Otse, who is commonly referred to as VeryDarkMan (VDM).
CREEBHILLS recalls that VeryDarkMan recently publicly criticized the prominent prophet for purportedly exploiting his congregants by marketing spiritual products to them.
Prophet Fufeyin primarily expressed concern regarding bottled water, specifically the ‘Pool of Bethesda water’ and ‘Red Sea water.’
One of the aforementioned bottled waters was reported to possess the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) registration number.
VDM has subsequently submitted a formal petition to the governmental agency, seeking clarification regarding the rationale for their endorsement of the spiritual merchandise.
In response to the backlash that ensued following VDM’s revelations, Prophet Fufeyin is said to have initiated a lawsuit amounting to N1 billion against VDM.
In a concerted effort to substantiate his allegations, VDM undertook the additional measure of testing the products, which purported to possess “miraculous healing powers,” on a substantial cohort of disabled individuals located in Abuja.
According to a widely circulated video documenting the event, none of the disabled participants exhibited any signs of healing following the application of the product.
In a more recent occurrence, VDM asserted in a video clip disseminated on his official Facebook page that the Prophet Fufeyin had removed several items from the church’s official online platform.
Nevertheless, the church’s administration, via a statement released on Saturday night by one Sophia Lloyd, refuted this assertion.
The statement indicated that the church’s legal representatives have been instructed to undertake necessary measures against VDM.
It characterized Otse’s allegations as “unfounded falsehoods” and “frivolous propaganda.”
Furthermore, they underscored that the video publication constitutes a calculated effort to defame their General Overseer and damage the church’s reputation.
“The church clarified that Otse is not an official representative of Mercy Television or the church and does not have the authority to speak or act on their behalf.
“The Church’s legal team has been instructed to take appropriate action regarding these false allegations,” it stated.
