Claudio Ranieri was asked about Saud’s contribution to the team following last night’s 4-1 win over Lecce.
The former Al Hilal player came on to replace injured Zeki Celik and delivered a key assist to Niccolo Pisilli for Roma’s third goal of the night.
“He has incredible speed,” Ranieri told the media after the game, “so I encourage him to push more.”
“Against Lecce’s Dorgu I said: I’ll put two fast players on his flank, so he won’t be so focused on attacking us and will have to be more careful of our counterattacks.”
“We have to learn to know Saud better, because he is very shy. Even in training he tends to do simple things, often passing the ball back.”
“I, on the other hand, know that he can do much more: he can pass the ball and launch himself into open space. And there he becomes really difficult to stop.”
