Renato Marin rejects Roma’s renewal offer, will join PSG

Primavera goal-keeper Renato Marin will leave Roma at the end of the season.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper, who arrived in 2022 after training in Trigoria since 2020 without being able to be a member for regulatory reasons, is now close to transferring to Paris Saint-Germain.

The French club presented a five-year offer of 600 thousand euros per year, which immediately attracted the attention of the Italian-Brazilian, now close to signing.

Roma delay in the negotiations for the renewal came back to haunt them.

Although Marin had been the starter of the Italian Under 19 at the European category last summer, until the last months of 2024 no meetings had been started to extend the contract, currently at the federal minimum.

According to Il Tempo, in mid-December there seemed to have been a positive turn, but the winter market slowed down the talks, allowing PSG to enter with an offer that is difficult to refuse.

Not even a further relaunch by the Giallorossi club, exceeding the 200 thousand euros previously proposed, managed to change the player’s mind.
