Roma add Monaco’s Embolo to striker shortlist

Roma are still looking for a solid alternative to Artem Dovbyk.

The Ukrainian forward cannot play in every competition, three times a week, and Roma feel they cannot rely on Eldor Shomurodov.

With Shomurodov set to join Venezia in the coming days, Roma are yet to secure his replacement.

According to Corriere dello Sport, the latest name to have been added to the capital club’s shortlist belongs to Monaco forward Breel Embolo.

The Swiss attacker has 4 goals and 2 assists to his name in 16 appearances this season.

27 years old, his pricetag is of around 12-15 million euros with a contract expiry date in 2026.

Embolo’s salary should be around three million euros, a figure that the player would have to lower in order to make a sustainable deal with Roma.

The parties are in talks and it is not excluded that Roma sporting director Florent Ghisolfi could be in Milan today to meet Monaco, engaged at San Siro in the last match of this phase of the Champions League.
