Roma have been handed a fine following Claudio Ranieri’s criticism of referee Tobias Stieler.
Roma have been sanctioned by UEFA just over two weeks before the first leg of the Europa League play-offs against Porto.
The decision comes after the strong statements made by Claudio Ranieri at the end of the match.
The Giallorossi club have received a double sanction.
On the one hand, a fine of 20 thousand euros was imposed precisely because of the words used by Ranieri towards the German referee.
On the other, a fine of 11 thousand euros was imposed for the behavior considered “improper” by the team during the match.
In addition to these sanctions, Roma will also have to pay a further fine of 8 thousand euros for “acts of damage caused to the stadium”, thus completing the picture of the penalties decided by UEFA.
