Legendary Roma captain Giuseppe Giannini spoke about the upcoming Europa League quarterfinals match-up between Roma and Milan.
More specifically, Giannini discussed the role Paulo Dybala can have in this crucial European fixture.
In an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Giannini was asked to compare Milan’s Rafael Leao and Dybala.
“We are talking about two players with different characteristics and roles, obviously, but who equally know how to be surprising and decisive during a match.”
“In some ways, the two are also difficult to classify. Dybala, in my opinion, still has something more than Leao, if only because he plays in an area of the pitch that always keeps him in the thick of the action. An area in which the Argentine has more freedom to maneuver and is not forced to remain hidden on the flank.”
“Precisely for this reason, thanks to his flair, his technique and his shots, he can exploit more opportunities during certain ultra-tactical matches. Against Milan, in any case, Paulo can be of key importance due to his central role in the attacking phase, while Leao has limited movements as a winger and, if he gets tightly man-marked, he can struggle.”
“And then, I must add, Paulo has more experience than the Portuguese in matches like these. His CV is full of such games,” said Giannini.
