Roma reach agreement in principle with Saelemaekers for permanent deal

Roma and Alexis Saelemaekers wish to continue together beyond the expiry of the player’s loan from Milan.

Since coming back from injury, the Belgian winger has proven to be a huge contributor to Roma’s performances and positive run of results under Claudio Ranieri.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Roma and the player have committed themselves to extending his stay in the Italian capital.

Saelemaekers’ agent was in Milan in recent days to report to Milan the will of his client to stay in the capital.

A week earlier Ghisolfi himself had expressed his intention to sign him permanently.

Now all that remains is to work on the deal to tighten and close as soon as possible.

The basic agreement between Saelemaekers and Roma has already been reached.

The newspaper reports that an agreement in principle was reached on the basis of a four-year contract worth around 2 million euros.

Roma will now have to work closely with Milan in order to define the player’s pricetag at the end of the season.
