Sardar Azmoun has not returned to the Italian capital despite initial reports had claimed he would do so over recent days.
The 29-year-old striker – currently on loan at Roma from Bayer Leverkusen – was recently injured in Iran’s match with Turkmenistan.
Azmoun had been forced to abandon the pitch after visibly pulling a muscle before half-time.
The initial prognosis and tests revealed damage to the hamstring muscle.
Despite this injury and Azmoun’s own preoccupation with it, the attacker did not return to Roma and continues to be involved with his national team.
It remains to be seen what course of action Roma and Iran decide to undertake in the coming days.
