See how 17 Countries Voted for Lookman in the 2024 Ballon d’Or

Super Eagles forward Ademola Lookman received votes from 17 countries across three continents, finishing 14th in the 2024 Ballon d’Or rankings with 82 points.

The voting involved journalists from FIFA’s top 100 ranked nations, with Atalanta’s Lookman earning his strongest support from Nigeria. Veteran journalist Sam Audu awarded Lookman maximum points, placing him first in his selection.

Journalists were tasked with selecting their top 10 players, with points assigned on a scale: 15 points for first place, 12 for second, 10 for third, followed by eight, seven, five, four, three, two, and one for the remaining positions.

Despite playing in Italy, Lookman surprisingly received no points from the country, as Sky Sports’ Paolo Condo, Italy’s representative, omitted him from his list.

Across Africa, Lookman gained significant backing, with Ivory Coast placing him fifth, Ghana eighth, and Mali ninth. Several other African nations, including Burkina Faso, Zambia, Senegal, Uganda, and South Africa, awarded him points with 10th-place votes, while Gabon and Equatorial Guinea ranked him seventh.

In Europe, Lookman’s strongest support came from Greece, which placed him second—his highest ranking from any European country. North Macedonia and Ireland positioned him eighth, while Portugal gave him a seventh-place vote.

Lookman’s impact extended globally, with additional support from Trinidad and Tobago, which placed him 10th, and the United Arab Emirates, where he ranked seventh.
