Roma attacker Stephan El Shaarawy commented the team’s performance in tonight’s 1-0 win over Genoa.
The Italian winger spoke to DAZN after the game.
“The coach asked us to give our all in order to secure sixth place – the bare minimum to still have some hope for Champions League football,” said El Shaarawy in reference to Atalanta potentially lifting the Europa League trophy and thus enabling the sixth team in Serie A to qualify to next year’s CL.
“De Rossi has given us a lot in these three months. He has only been coaching for a short time but has great experience in the field. He is a great leader, he always has been one.”
“We are happy to have him with us. Today we enjoy this victory, which came at a somewhat complicated end to the season but we are happy to have won today.”
“Regrets? We could have scored more points in head-to-head matches. We came close to doing it in Leverkusen. But I repeat, today we shouldn’t have lost or drawn. We are happy to have concluded like this.”
