Trump tariffs end ‘self-delusion in markets’

Dow Jones / Market Watch have a pith article up on the market response to Trump’s tariff trade war.

Bolding is mine.

The article is a quickie, pointing out that:

  • investors … previously appeared to hold out hope that Trump was using the threat of steep levies as a bargaining chip or would take a slower, gradual approach

Yeah. And you don’t need me to tell y’all that ‘hope’ is a four-letter word for trades. Guilty of it myself from time to time I’m sad to admit.
