Ukraine’s Zelenskiy: I will meet with Putin when he has a plan with the US

Although headlines on progress toward peace between Ukraine and Russia are likely to be exhaustive at times, the actual conclusion will probably still be a ways away. Ukraine’s president Zelensiy said today:

  • I will meet with Putin when he has a plan with the US

He also added:

  • US has never seen Ukraine in NATO, they just “talk about it”

Trump said that he would end the war as soon as the took office. My guess is he will back off, but will still fight for the end. So far he seems to be favoring Russia which I am not really surprised. He needs to keep leaders like Putin and Xi closer despite the history.

Along that point, Trump said he told Putin that they helped each other in WWII. Trump also has visions of halving defense spending in ALL countries by stopping the military spending starting with de-nuclearization. As he said, we each of a nuclear arsenal that would wipe out each other. What good is having any more?

Can each country trust each other enough to go that way? If he can convince that money is better spent on other things, it might have a chance.

That is his plan as he focuses on the US budget and debt situation.
