US initial jobless claims 221K vs 214K estimate

  • Prior was 210K
  • Continuing claims 1.791m vs 1.813m expected

This is the highest jobless claims reading since the end of January. The US dollar ticked lower on this report but it was a very small move. Note that the Dollar Index is lower three days in a row and below the 200-day moving average.
